Sorry about that, I'm not exactly sure what happened to it. I have modified this article to be correct.

Hi Dmitry, I don't think that it's possible to have the users obtain the solution file from your individual machine but what you can do is add just the project to source code control. This functionality will only add the source files and the project files (.csproj). You could also use the SOS GUI Cl...

I am unsure as to why this file isn't being created. Have you attempted to perform any operations from within Visual Studio to create the file? You may want to check and make sure that you have permissions to write to the directory that the file is being created. If you are still unable to produce t...

Michael, I don't have a template for Installshield, I am assuming that this is a plug-in that I may not have. You could e-mail me screen shots from your Add New Project dialog so that I can verify this. I will also need to know what version of InstallShield you have installed. Tonya Tonya@Sourcegear...

We would like to reproduce this issue to determine if this is a Vault related problem. You noted that this is an Installshield file type, how did you add this file to your project? Do you have a plug-in installed for Installshield? Any detailed instructions that you can provide would be helpful. Tha...

Thanks for the detailed information. I have attempted to reproduce this issue with no luck, so I have some additional questions for you. You are correct, a log file would also be very beneficial. Was this solution converted from VS.Net 2003 to VS 2005? If you view your Pending Checkins dialog and pe...

Yes, I was able to reproduce the slow down using VS 2005 compared to using VS.Net 2003. However, I was also able to reproduce the slowness using Microsoft's Visual SoureSafe version control software. Since the slowness occurs in both products, this is probably completely related to VS 2005 and we ma...

Performance issues from within VS 2005 are hard to determine based on users having various network configurations. From my own personal experience, VS.Net 2003 does appear to be quicker then VS 2005. I performed my own tests and then re-evaluated the same test scenarios using VSS as my primary sourc...

Are you editing the files on a machine that you did not check them out with? You will receive a renegade file status if you edit files that weren't checked out on the same machine. The only way around this is to make sure you files are checked in before using a different machine. Tonya Nunn SourceGe...

I have officially voted and validated this bug on the website that you requested. I also added comments explaining that the problem exists with multiple source code control applications including Visual SourceSafe.

Hopefully this problem will get resolved for you soon.

Dave, Regardless if the project has already been bound to source code control, you will need to open the project by using File, SourceControl, Open from source control the very first time that you open a project. From this point on, you can continue to open the project using File - Open. If you are ...
