Adding remote shadow folders

Having problems correctly setting up a shadow folder that's on a remote machine. I'm running vs 3.0.2 on the server and all clients. The vault server is running on Win2k, IIS5. I get the following error message in VaultShadowFolderService.txt: ... Could not find part of the path \\orpMYMACHINE\Vault...

Don: 2) Hold down the "Shift" key. Invoke View or Edit on the file in question. You should see a dialog asking you which program to use with the file. You can choose the program from that menu. The options for this dialog are not stored with any associated file type. I've logged an enhanc...

Select statement to return the last tran / vs id for folder

Can you help me out here guys? I've written a little script that a developer runs whenever they want to update their machine with the latest in version control. This script then does a heap load of stuff taking the latest in vault and installing it on their machine. At the moment this work is done r...

Can you add my vote to this feature as I regularly (once a week) delete my working directory and recreate it from Vault so having to bind a project each time is a real pain in the arse. Not sure why Vault would need to add MSSCCPRJ.SCC file to maintain the bindings. Surely this binding information c...

Had a quick read of the article and this is exactly what I'm encouraging you to do - I'm not saying make promises but do openly discuss your direction and longer term strategies particularly in this rich area of potential functionality.

Keep up the good work

Ok, I was kinda expecting you weren't able to get specific with what you're planning ;-) It is a bleedin complex area this branch and merge malarkey and I think the majority of developers won't have the inclination to crib up on the various nuances and forces at work. However, that said, I still thi...

Thanks for the info Eric. It's very useful to get the inside track on how the wizard works. I'll go ahead with what I was intending to do. There's been a bit of talk recently (of which I may be one of the more vocal!) about getting more support for tracking and maintaining branch activity. Where do ...

Cool.

Excellent feature - I now need to figure out how to consume the feed programatically so that I can hook up some triggers in reponse to check-ins.

question re merging branches

Hi guys, A question for you. I've got some a new folder (containing a whole heap load of sub-folders) that I want to add to both our Mainline (trunk) and Release Candidate branch. I'm intending to add this folder to Mainline and then merge it into the branch. The files in this new folder will then b...

Hi Eric, Can you add to the todo list the ability to provide a feed for a Vault folder or is this a no go enhancement? I ask 'cause we often have to work divide up the team around about the time when a release candidate is about ready to ship. We create a release prep codeline (grand name for a bran...

I agree that Vault shouldn't be *imposing* a methodology. I tend to think enforcing code line policies in general from a tool could suggest that there's a lack of communication and discipline in a team, fix that and you don’t need the code line policy. Having said that I've made check-in comments ma...

Another related suggestion: Allow more granular control over which folder we can associate rules against. Often there are a number of codelines within the same Vault Repository eg Mainline, ReleaseCandidate_1.0, PrivateCode all with different requirements as to what policy rules should be enforced. ...

Hi Eric / Danny,
Are you counting Danny's post as another vote toward supporting Vendor branches (see my previous post http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... ght=#10374)?
Thanks

Ok, I'll see how this behaviour affects me. I think I can probably live with the problem so long as it doesn't have knock on affects in the development lifecycle.
