Value cannot be null. Parameter name: String

We have an automation tool that use the HTTP interface in Vault to extract files from vault. I just found out that our automation is no longer working. I also found that the HTTP is no longer working in Vault 4.0.6 either (note: we just upgraded from 3.5.2). To demonstrate the problem: http://vault_...

Beth,

I would like to put in the feature request, and it would be even better if the function has a "recursive" option to fix up the subfolders as well.

Thanks very much,
Don

Beth, I only have about 10% of the repository on my remote system. That Get Lastest would be a multi-gigabyte hit to straighten out file status on the entire repository. And there are lots of folders with hundreds of members that I only have 5-10 files local files machine. I was very happy to find o...

Beth, I don't actually want to do a get lastest version to load several hundred folders worth of info to straighten out the status fields (ie. I'm a remote user). This brings up the question... Since Vault already has a function in the show differences utility to Resolve Status on an entire folder, ...

Quick fix for UNKNOWN status

I recently had to replace my computer due to hardware problems, and had to move my development environment to a new machine. I had a lot of "in-progress" work, and didn't want to do a get lastest version after setting up vault on the new computer. There were lots of status UNKNOWN. I tried...

Vault 3.5.2 to 4.0.6 conversion

We did an upgrade yesterday. The server is Win2K, and clients are a various levels, but mostly WinXP SP2. We ran into a few anomolies and one problem with the upgrade. 1) Renaming. We have pretty strict conventions on file names, with some being case sensitive. Rename now complains about the file al...

Hi Linda, After straightening out the configuration files, build 3.5.2.5073 is working fine. However, I was planning on telling all the developers to install the 3.5.2 release on Monday. Without upgrading the server to the new build, they'll be getting the mismatch message when they install the new ...

Any recommendations on the easiest way to upgrade from build 3.5.2.5073 to 3.5.2.5087. If coming from 3.5.2.5073, both the new server and client installers prompt for "Modify, Repair, or Uninstall". The first two options don't update to the new build, and I really don't want to uninstall/r...

3.5.2 upgrade problem with Email Notification settings

Similar problem to the Shadow Folder configuration being overlaid. On this one, I didn't feel confident enough to restore the vault.config file. So, I just re-entered the SMTP info from the vault admin application. It's now working. Any idea why both configuration files would get clobbered? Note: Th...

Restoring the web.config corrects the problem. Do you want a copy for debugging the installer script? If you do, I'll be glad to email the config file... Thanks, Don

3.5.2 upgrade problem with Shadow Folders

I just upgraded from 3.5.1, and tested the shadow folders to make sure they were working properly. After finding that shadow files were not working, I checked the vault admin and the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\VaultService\VaultShadowFolder\web.config file. Found that the shadow definations were all missing...

Just a guess, but it sounds like they want an audit trail for the physical machine that performs the check-in...

For something quick, how about adding IP address/Machine name to the email notification text in Vault???

Small problem with the DW interface

I had this buried in another thread, so I thought I'd mention this again just in case it was missed. Use DW, go to the local view, and checkout a file. Then switch to testing view and then return to local view. The local view will no longer have the checkout indicator on the file, and the Checkin op...

Dan and Guest The site name here is just a default (in the Set Vault Working Folder dialog), and can be changed, which will change the name of the Vault folder that will be created. Note that you can remove the site name entirely in that dialog and it will not create an extra level of subfolder for ...
