Solution

With help from SG I have sorted this problem out and I thought I would document the solution here in case anybody else has a similar issue. We discovered that there were a couple of open items that were included in inactive milestones, once we changed thier state to closed everything started working...

Open page not working

Hi We are using fortress 1.1.2 and are currently having problems getting the open page for one project to display. Every time we try to view the open items page for this one project we get the following error: Error 500: The Server is unable to process your request, click the login button to go back...

After installing v1.1.1 this morning I tried this again and it worked!
Maybe the reboot cleared the problem.
Ian.

PS. for refrence the log file had no entries at all for the day where this was happening. I was going to try it again with the logging level turned up but this time it worked.

The import doesn't appear to be sucessfuly importing labels now, we've had trouble getting labeled versions out of source safe in the past so I suppose I'm not surprised it's having trouble, I just wish it would fail quicker :) It's been running the verifying Labels process for over two days now and...

Ok I've tracked down the log file, it is being written to my home directory on the network for some reason. Looking inside it I'm seeing a lot of entries like this: 08/11/2007 09:03:02 Importing Label: $/Paragon (Gui2) V4.70 (4.70.012) Could not find item for label promotion $/Paragon (Gui2) V4.70/P...

When you say "towards the end of the export" is that after the Verifying Label stage? currently the import is running extreemely slowly. It took all night to import one label (the average is arround 40 mins). At this rate it could be weeks before it has finnished, I am considering abbandon...

VSS Import and Pin

I am currently in the process of importing our source code into fortress using the VSS import tool. The repository structure in VSS looks like this: $ -- (Trunk) -- (V1) -- (V2) Project (v1) and (V2) are shared from (Trunk) with some files pined to specific versions and some files branched. I first ...

Thanks for your swift reply. Unfortunately we have used the two custom fields for other purposes. :( While we are talking about possible enhancements can I put a request in for more custom fields? It would be really handy to have more than two available especialy if they could be set to be either a ...

Milestone advice

Hi, We have recently installed Fortress and are generally really happy with it but we are having some trouble deciding exactly how to use milestones. In our initial setup we have created milestones for the next couple of releasable builds which basically occur monthly, and we have been assigning bug...
