Re: entering Work Items

I tried a bunch and only came up with + and & as well.

I have logged a bug on this.

Re: viewing txt attachments of a work item

I've only seen this when the document is not actually created in notepad, such as a notepad document. When created in Wordpad, there is additional information that would show up in Notepad. I suspect it would be the same with Notepad++.

Re: entering Work Items

Another option you have with system fields is you can remove them from the form and not use them if you want to use your own custom one instead.

Re: entering Work Items

Are you importing into our default platform field or one that you made? Ours is a drop-down field, which limits entries only to those that exist.

Re: entering Work Items

2) Check the allowable entries for the platform field. It looks like that item has a platform that isn't listed in the field options.

I'll post back about #1 in a bit.

Re: entering Work Items

I reproduced item 2, and ASP.NET throws a "Maximum request length exceeded" error in the Event Viewer Windows logs. Try first the number 1048576 in the IIS upload limit, and perform an iisreset (run iisreset at an administrator command prompt). If that doesn't fix it, try changing the MaxR...

Re: entering Work Items

1) Do you mean for attachments to the work items? I just attached some with a + and a & using our Vault Pro Demo server in this work item: http://vaultprodemo.sourcegear.com/VaultPro/Item.aspx?pid=102&mode=view&itemid=42. If you are using XML for manipulating data, then the name could be...

Re: Folder not visible

Thank you for the update.

The fact that the reset didn't work now makes me think there might have been a Delete action sitting in the Pending Changes. If this happens again to you, check your Pending Changes for delete actions.

Re: Vault not accepting issues on import

What type of characters? if it's things like & and <, then if you're using any XML, those will be translated into what XML wants, such as ;amp, and the < might be assumed to be html itself.

Re: Folder not visible

Was your user name used when you logged into on the server? It sounds like the tree on your cache isn't updating. Go to the Vault - Tools - Options - Cache Location and click the Reset Repository Cache button. Check only the Repository Information check box, and click OK. Vault will reopen and have ...

Re: Folder not visible

Even though you have Admin rights, it's still possible for the top level Vault admin to block folders from you. Go to the Vault admin web page, expand the repository on the left, and click on folder security. Browse to the folder and click on it. Then scroll down to where your name is listed to see ...

Re: Folder not visible

Open up the Vault web client at http://<your Vault server>/vaultservice. Select the repository in the drop-down and browse it to see if the file is there. If you see it there, then your rights are fine. Try completely closing Vault and any software with which you have it integrated and then reopen. ...

Re: customizing System Fields doesn't carry through everywhe

The desktop client would need to be restarted in order to pull changes from the server. If just restarting the client doesn't help, then perform an IIS reset to force the server to empty what it has cached. The easiest way is to type iisreset at an administrator command prompt. If you can't do that ...
