Hi Linda, There maybe a few subtle differences between the installations. Specifically this was the process I used to enable compression (reference http://weblogs.asp.net/owscott/archive/2004/01/12/57916.aspx). 1) Created compression folder 2) Used IIS snap-in to enable static and application file c...

Using IIS Compression with blame.aspx

I'm having a problem with Blame.aspx and IIS compression. With IIS Compression enabled (on IIS 6.0, windows server 2003 SP1), blame.aspx doesn't display (firefox and IE 7 both the same.). Using Fiddler indicates that the compressed data stream cannot be decompressed as its "incomplete". Al...

I'll let you know as soon as the next one appears.

Its not a vault dialog its VS complaining about the CR/LF ending of the lines, but I wondered what could be causing it - I haven't yet seen it happen on non-source controlled projects.

Inconsistent Line Endings

(Running vault 3.1.8.3771 on server and clients. Server running on Win Server 2003, db on SQL server 2000 sp4. Visual Studio 2005.) This has only started to occur recently - files randomly require checkout when opened as VS tells us that the files have inconsistent line endings. Is this a VS problem...

Hi Linda, Actually the project file is not checked out - I'm disconnecting from the server on my laptop, working offline, then reconnecting to the server. While I'm offline, I get the usual "checkout - disconnected" dialogs, and do the "disconnected checkouts", but this is on var...

"object is pinned" after changing from working dis

After going from disconnected to connected, VS2005 shows a dialog asking to "check out the items that were changed" while disconnected. Clicking Continue then flashes up a dialog box saying "could not check out ... the object is pinned" for all the pinned objects in the open proj...

VS2005: Resets pending check-ins selection on refresh

Versions: VS2005 professional Vault 3.1.8 Scenario: Have some files checked for check-in using the VS "pending check-ins" panel, and other file checkboxes cleared so they won't be checked in. VS2005 will reset these so that all files are checked on: -Status refresh -Manual check-in/out of ...

Vault vs. VSS 2005

Our original decisions for going with Vault over VSS were obvious; fast internet-based operation was essential given that we are a development team who all work from home and are based all over the UK. Now that VSS 2005 has been released I have to reassess Vault vs. other options (in particular VSS ...

Database connection after database restart

Firstly, I'd like to say thank you to SourceGear for Vault; it really has been invaluable since we first started using it last year. Props to the product and the team. This isn't a report about a bug that is stopping us using Vault, I would in fact say it was a minor feature, but the solution is so ...

Reproducing bug behaviour

Linda, Thanks for the reply. I'm impressed that you've put it in as a bug - it seems so unlikely that anyone else will ever come across it. As for reproducing it, the other guys on my team have it frequently, but I had never come across it until about an hour ago. I'll have to play around to see if ...

Unwanted check out when projectname is also an aspx filename

Vault 3.1.5 server and client. Visual Studio 2003 We have a web project with the same name as one of the files in the project. Often when we check out the csproj file, we also get the aspx file checking out without wanting it to be. Other times we get a "file already checked out" message. ...

Dear Mary,

Thanks for the detailed reply. We'll try out the various solutions and let you know how we get on. We could well enforce bug-ids for check-ins, that may be a feasible workaround.

Regards,

Andy

Mary, As a follow up - storing the solution doesn't seem to have fixed our problem. I'm guessing it may be as the projects are not stored "below" the solution in the Vault folder structure, but as seperate folders on the same level under the root of the repository. Given that we can't all ...
