Now why would you think we are having performance issues? :) The use of shares is limited. 2 folders in that project. Just opening the one large repository takes minutes from the client (5 - 10 minutes). The one developer who handles branching/merging of the code says it takes him anywhere from 20 m...

Repository size
I am just wondering if there is threshold or best practice in keeping a single repository size managable? I did a check on 2 of our largest ones via the Admin tool and here are the sizes: Repository ABC Folders: 13897 (+8629 deleted) Files: 223631 (+132647 deleted) Tree size: 12.74 GB Disk Space Nee...

Vault server upgrade from 3.5.0 to 3.5.3
Are there any specific things one needs to be concerned with in this upgrade? Outside of the normal backup of DB prior to applying the patches is it really necessary to use the updated client too? Any harm if the 3.5.0 client was mistakenly used? I have about 200 developers that need the new client ...

Security reporting needed
Is there a way to find out when a user was added to Vault and given access to a particular repository? I would need a date/time. I don't see an option via the Admin tool so I am guessing a SQL query is in order. Thanks, Tom Client Information Vault Client Version: 3.5.0.4741 .Net Framework Version: ...

Well, I found a .bat file that provides the hook between Siebel and VSS. And since Vault does support command line options, I think all I need to do is take that .bat file and modify it to work with Vault. If someone could provide me a sample snippet to do a Vault checkout/checkin via the command li...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have seen the KB articles on vault performance and have applied those that I can or have rights to. I'll have the DBAs look at that other article regarding database maintenance too. So if I understand correctly, the only correct and (supportable) way to achieve what I w...

Our current Vault setup support approx. 150 developers plus 6 build servers. This is quite a load. All of this is hitting one SQL server DB. It is currently at 20G in size. Now I have another team wanting to use it for Siebel artifacts. There space requirements are 2 repositories each potentially up...

Multiple instances of Vault
Is it possible to "spin" up more then once instance of the Vault on one machine? I have a request/inquiry to spin up another instance. From what I can gather, I have two options: 1. Duplicate the existing web service and point it to another DB? 2. Build a new server and install the softwar...

Check in file from an alternate location
It appears you cannot check in from a location other than where the file was originally checked out to. Is there any way of doing this?
VSS had this capability. Vault version we are on is 3.5.0.
Thanks, Tom

User and repository access report for SOX
We have a SOX requirement to provide a list/report of users and which repositories they have access to. We need to provide this quarterly or on demand for our auditors.
Is there a SQL query or SP available/written that would do this?
Thanks, Tom
