Re: Files stuck on "Renegade" status

This problem seems to have resolved itself. When I checked today, the files were marked as "Needs Merge". I just got the latest version of each and everything is fine. Weird.

Files stuck on "Renegade" status

Just started using the new CPC on OS X. Thanks for doing this version. :-) I was previously using Vault (version 5) in a Windows 8 VM on my MacBook. So I have a working directory with all the latest code in it. When I installed the CPC I set the working folder to the same folder. It doesn't know wha...

Re: Shadow folder doesn't reflect changes to repository file

I passed this along to my server guy and he was able to change permissions as you describe and it appears to be working now. Thanks for your help

Re: Shadow folder doesn't reflect changes to repository file

As I feared, this still isn't working. This is exactly what I experienced with version 5 or 3 or 2 or whatever it was when I first reported this bug. We moved to a new server. Copied our web folders to the new server directly from the old one. Copied the Vault 5 database to the new server. Ran versi...

Re: Shadow folder doesn't reflect changes to repository file

That sounds about right except I wouldn't normally give everyone full access permissions on a web folder. The user account that Vault runs under would have full permission though. Also there could be files in the folder that are not under control of Vault as of the time that you assign the shadow fo...

Re: Shadow folder doesn't reflect changes to repository file

No in this case we already were using the shadow folder under VSS/SOS so the permissions were OK. I tried changing permissions on the files (they may have already been read/write, I don't recall) and that didn't help. PLUS, even a new, non-existing file would not write to the shadow folder. The only...

Re: Shadow folder doesn't reflect changes to repository file

This thread from four years ago mentions an issue I've recently asked again about, since we're now moving Vault to a new server. The issue is as you can see above -- Vault required me to delete the folder and its existing content before it would work as a shadow folder. Beth put in a feature request...

Re: Upgrading from Vault 5 while moving to new server

Thanks. That pointed out a table I hadn't seen but we're moving the whole database anyway so no problem there. This article doesn't address the fact that we're upgrading Vault at the same time. So moving a version 5 database then installing version 8, which expects some additional tables that won't ...

Re: Upgrading from Vault 5 while moving to new server

Still not clear on the migration plan. Do I simply copy the database and all the files (as I understand it, the old VSS data is in the file system, not the database), then install Vault 6 (or 7 or 8 ) on the new server and the newer version of Vault will understand the old database? Can I move the d...

Upgrading from Vault 5 while moving to new server

We're running Vault 5 on Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000. We're migrating to Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server Web 2012. Since the latest version of Vault won't run on our current hardware and the old version won't run on the new hardware, what is the best strategy for migrating? FWIW we pr...

Re: Vault Std 5.1.1 and Windows 8.1

Thanks for your help, Beth. I'll see if I can figure out how to save a rollback point then let Microsoft inflict its will upon me.

Vault Std 5.1.1 and Windows 8.1

I'm currently running Vault Standard 5.1.1 under Windows 8.0. I've rejected every offer that Microsoft has presented for upgrading to 8.1 because I have a vague recollection that Vault Standard 5.1.1 doesn't like Windows 8.1. Looking at your compatibility chart (which seems to be just for the server...

Re: Nobody can connect to the server this morning

I cannot get to VaultService.asmx from the browser on the Vault server. If I'm understanding IIS Manager, the website and the Application Pool for Vault are both running. The LogFiles folder (Win 2003) has lots of log files. It appears our attempts to access VaultService.asmx are not producing any l...

Nobody can connect to the server this morning

All of a sudden this morning, nobody in the office can connect to the Vault server. Running Vault Standard 5.1.1.19215. I can get to <vaultdomain>/VaultService just fine in my browser. When I try to go to http://<vaultdomain>/VaultService/VaultService.asmx I get nothing. The browser acts like it's w...

Re: AuthTokenHash matched, but couldn't get the userid

Somehow the proxy server got turned on. We've never ever checked that for any reason in 20 years. Must've been a Windows update. Not sure why they would do that.

Thanks for your help.
