Re: DiffMerge hangs when closing

It took a little tinkering, but I was finally able to reproduce this.
I don't have any results to report yet, but I'm looking at it now
and hopefully will have a fix in 4.2 (which should be out in a
few weeks).

thanks

Re: DiffMerge hangs when closing

I haven't seen that one before. I see that you are on a 64-bit Windows system, but which version? Also, does it matter if you have files open or not? That is, does it happen if you just launch it with an empty window and close it or does it only happen after closing the last non-empty window? If so ...

Re: files are identical or equivalent under the current rule

The folder window should be able to ignore differences in EOLs and mark them as equivalent (which you can then hide like equal files). With the bug, the settings in the "default" ruleset aren't being loaded by the folder window, so changing it won't help right now. Would it be possible/pra...

Re: How to set empty extension in "Simple File Equivalence"

Currently the "Simple File Equivalence" section wants a list of suffixes and doesn't take wildcards. Sorry. Have you tried using "Ruleset-based Equivalence" and enable the Default Ruleset for those files without suffixes? And maybe update the "Equivalence Mode" page on ...

Re: Help Debugging Invalid Unicode Characters

If the source files are not UTF-8, but do contain French accent characters, set the encoding to ISO-8859-1 (or whatever encoding / code page you normally use) and DiffMerge should import it just fine. Internally, DiffMerge works with Unicode and will, as it imports the file, convert it from whatever...

Re: files are identical or equivalent under the current rule

A quick note for the forum. With the files I received from Tomcraft I have reproduced the problem. I have a fix for it in my dev tree which will be in 4.2. The problem was that subsequent invocations did not respect the "allow default ruleset" setting (the ctor failed to load that field fr...

Re: files are identical or equivalent under the current rule

I'm not able to reproduce the problem here. Could you email a few files and I'll try to figure it out. Please zip up: [*] "~/Library/Preferences/SourceGear DiffMerge Preferences" [*] the contents of the Support Dialog (available from the About Dialog) [*] one pair of files that have the pr...

You mean something like a "try these in order" ?

I'll log this.

Fedora 6 came out in October 2006. My first Fedora release
was based upon Fedora 7 and dated April 2009. So it might
work for you, but I can't promise anything.

Here's a link to the RPM and the README:

Re: Make filename selectable/copyable (feature request)

We are not affiliated with DiffMerge.net and I personally have never used it, so I can't really talk about what their product does or doesn't do (other than just repeating their feature sheet). It would help if you could elaborate on what features you are looking for in a tool. I'll briefly describe...

Re: Deprecation notices (Mac 4.0.0 [intel] stable)

I've seen those too. Don't worry about them.

That's an issue with wxWidgets 2.9.4. They have
fixed it in 2.9.5 and I'm testing with it now for my 4.1
release due out in a few weeks.
