Windows 2003 server... Everytime it goes down, I do notice that w3wp.exe is always around 1GB...

(btw, we have scheduled an update to 4.x this weekend and are also moving sql off the Vault server and onto it's own)

There was an OutOfMemoryException thrown this morning, sorry I didn't notice it till now as Vault seemed to have recovered from it without any noticeable side-effects. I've emailed the log to support at your attention Beth. Please let me know what you find/think.

So far no exceptions... but I won't be confident until it has been running this way for at least a week. Did those logs I sent you help?

The pagefile is 4GB (see above), Vault just had another exception so the question about when to apply that is now moot. I've set it to 50.

Our TreeManagerSize is currently 250, should I make this change now? ..or wait until the next exception occurs?

After changing only the DBBufferSizeKB to 512 on the 16th, Vault had the OutOfMemory exception again this morning. (I'll email the log files to you Beth) I'm setting the TreeDeltaCompresionThreshold now. We have purchased the v4.x upgrades, just can't wedge the downtime in among the projects to perf...

There wasn't anything in the event log around the time of the out-of-memory exception.

I'll try mod'ing those two values... (I assume you are suggesting I disable the TreeDeltaCompresionThreshold)

Thanks Linda, that link provided the answer. I see that IT updated McAfee on the server where Vault is installed. The option was set to block port 25. Now I have to convince them to disable that setting for that machine. Lucky me.
