server name is too long for the connect box

Hi,
I have the following server name for vss.
172.16.160.102\source_safe\Microsoft visual studio\vss\<company name>
how can I get a connection to this box.

That doesn't look like it would be too long. You can put names in the box that are far longer than the box.

Here's some things to check:
1) Make the folder holding the VSS database a share and give the account that SOS t is running under permissions to it.

2) Try a UNC path \\servername\sharename\path

Sorry, I had to edit my previous post a bit.

I'm assuming you are trying to add the path in the SOS Server Manager. If you can't get the path into the box, then try using the browse button.

If you're still having problems, then what version of SOS are you using and where are you adding the path?
