No workspace or project files were found in the selected source control project

To open a workspace (or project) in Visual C++, if you select Open Workspace, then click on the Source Control button in the lower right corner of that Open Workspace dialog, you will get this error. This is a limitation of the Microsoft Source Code Control APIs used by SOS Collab to communicate with SourceSafe and an issue we cannot work around.

You can, however, open a workspace (or project) under source control in other ways. For example, you can open the workspace from the Recent Workspaces menu, or you can select Open Workspace, find the .dsw (or .dsp) file and click Open. At that point, you will be prompted to log in to SOS Collab and you should no longer encounter the error.
