For some reason, I can’t change the owner to NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE because it tells me that I already have a user of that name. And, for some reason, I can’t delete the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE user… Kind of stuck here.

Also, I changed the owner to ‘sa’ and I haven’t been able to change it back to (domain)\Administrator because it says that this name doesn’t exist!?!?

What's the receipe for a nice Vault configuration?

Give me just a minute while I find the email you sent. I'll get you up and running quickly.

User is up and running now. There was a schema that NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE owned. I'm not sure how that happened. What we did was:
  • 1) Uninstall Vault.
    2) Restored the backup.
    3) Assign the db_owner schema to the db_owner group. Somehow it was owned by NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE.
    4) Removed NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE entirely from the sgvault and sgmaster databases and the SQL security. This took also removing the corresponding schemas.
    5) Install Vault.
