Remote Version -1, Status Unknown, Error 1225 on deletion

Post by vonwyss » Thu Aug 11, 2005 6:40 am

Hi!

I just added a few files to a folder using the "detect new files" function. When adding, I got an error message saying that the file already existed.

Now, the 3 files I added newly have a VERY strange status: they show Status=Unknown and a Remote Version=-1.

Also, I cannot do anything with them: deleting them fails with
[11.08.2005 14:23:30] Beginning transaction
[11.08.2005 14:23:30] Item $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/Meldewesen.wsdl caused the transaction to fail: The server returned an unknown status code (1225).
[11.08.2005 14:23:30] Transaction failed

Checking them out (to get rid of Unknown) gives
[11.08.2005 14:23:06] Checking out file $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/Meldewesen.wsdl
[11.08.2005 14:23:07] Check out failed for $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/Meldewesen.wsdl: Could not get the requested version of the object.
[11.08.2005 14:23:30] Preparing data to begin transaction

The history is empty.

Get Latest fails with a dialog box saying: "Server was unable to process request. --> Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

What went wrong here and - more importantly - how can I get this back on track?

Regards,

Leo

The first thing I would suggest is to close any Vault clients and delete your client side cache files. We want to rule out any problems with cached information.

If you still encounter a problem, send me a copy any client-side errors, plus a copy of the sgvault.log file from %windir%\temp\sgvault.

Hi Linda

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I deleted the content of the whole C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\lvw0149\Anwendungsdaten\SourceGear\Vault_1\Client directory and tried again. I set the working directories and everything.

It stays the same: Status "Unknown" and "Remote Version" -1.

Operations on the files still fail:

[11.08.2005 16:02:17] Getting latest version of $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/TaxShipment.xsd
[11.08.2005 16:02:30] Checking out file $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/TaxShipment.xsd
[11.08.2005 16:02:30] Check out failed for $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/TaxShipment.xsd: Could not get the requested version of the object.
[11.08.2005 16:02:38] Preparing data to begin transaction
[11.08.2005 16:02:38] Beginning transaction
[11.08.2005 16:02:38] Item $/SteuerverwaltungBE/IAP2/IAPWSDL/Meldewesen.wsdl caused the transaction to fail: The server returned an unknown status code (1225).
[11.08.2005 16:02:38] Transaction failed

Also, check-in operations on other files in the same folder (some, not all) also fail now:

[11.08.2005 16:05:08] Preparing data to begin transaction
[11.08.2005 16:05:08] Beginning transaction
[11.08.2005 16:05:08] An error occurred while trying to begin a transaction.
[11.08.2005 16:05:08] Transaction failed
[11.08.2005 16:05:08] An exception was encountered during the transaction. Exception: Server was unable to process request. --> Error in the application. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)

It seems to me that something is really wrong here.

I tried to attach the log file (zipped) but am not sure it worked...

Leo,

Would you please contact me via email (using the link below) so we can get to the bottom of this?
