search functionality

Linda:

In the vault client is it possible to do a "like" search. There is a search function at the bottom of the screen. For instance, if there is a file called mucommon.bas, we want to be able to search for common and pull up and files names with that search.

The current search only returns an exact match. I'll log a feature request for a "like" search capability.

Update: you currently can do a wildcard search using * or use ? for a single character.

Would that meet your need for a "like" search?

How does that work? Meaning, what should I type in the search field?

You can type in *common.*, and it should retrieve all files with "common" in the name.

For ?, type in something like a?.txt, and it will retrieve all files like a1.txt, a2.txt, but not files like a12.txt
