User Repository Access Issues

Post by dcrowell » Mon May 08, 2006 12:59 pm

We are using Vault 3.1.8 upgraded from a 2.x version.

If I create a user with access to 2 of the 24 repositories, when I look again, the user has access to different repositories than I set. It seems random.

Any ideas?

Could you provide more details -- perhaps steps to reproduce this? For instance, where are you setting the access to repositories? Are you using security rights?

A screenshot or two might be useful.

I'm not using the folder-level security. Users are authenticated against AD (except admin). I'm using a user called dcrowell (in the admin group) to make the changes from the users tab of the admin tool.

Of the 24 repositories, I first de-selected all but the first two for user "nray". After closing the admin tool, and re-opening it, all were deselected except the second and last repositories. (see attached screenshots)

After trying again it worked. It seems that it might only happen when the new settings have few repositories allowed than the old settings.

I wasn't able to reproduce this in 3.1.8 (not an upgrade) with 24 repositories. Let us know if it's more than a temporary glitch.

After a little mor testing, it seems to work when I use the mouse to check/uncheck the checkboxes, but if I just use cursor keys and spacebar it doesn't always work.

OK, I see it now. When I used the keyboard, the end results were totally random.

I'll log a bug. Best to use the mouse for the time being.

I'm anxiously awaiting 3.1.9 :)
