Undo Check Out Admin Utility

Post by GuyH » Wed Nov 28, 2007 7:17 am

I use the 'Undo check out' function quite a lot.

We have hundreds of files checked out at any time - the web based admin utility for 'undo check out' is near useless for the following reasons...

It does a postback everytime i check a file
It has no search utility

what happened to the windows based admin tool?

We added additional administrative functions and the old Admin Tool was out of room.

I can log a feature request for improving the web interface.

Is there a particular reason the Admin must undo checkouts on so many files?

thanks for your reply Linda, improving the web interface would be a great move. :P

try 'undo check out' on 3 files when there are more than 100 files checked out over multiple projects - its awful.

you end up resorting to the browsers 'find' utility :x and even then you have to repeat the find after checking a file because it posts back and loads the page again

a filter/search would be useful
put the undo checkout button outside of the frame/div that scrolls the files
and show a list of files that are checked.
