version report

Post by kholopov » Thu May 25, 2006 9:36 am

Hello!
I can not find in DragNet a way to get "version changes" report.

The problem actually contains 2 poblems of usual bug-tracking process:

- When a bug is created and even fixed it is still not know what project version it would be. This was it seems reasonable to leave this Version field empty. But when project release is prepared it is required to assign to every fixed bug without version the new release version number. Is this possible in DragNet

- later I've got a need to create reports with bugs for SEVERAL project versions (usually versions period). Is this possible in DragNet? And how?

Thank you!

It's not possible to search for all the bugs where the version field is blank.

In the future, when you add a bug you could put a keyword in the Version field, like "empty." Then later you can search for all bugs with "empty" in the Version field.

To print a report, you could do a query of bugs with the version name. For instance, if your naming convention is something like "version 123," you could type that in the version field to get a report on that specific version, or just type "version" and the results will include anything with "version" as part of the field.

In the query results, click Printable for a printable list which you can print or copy into a spreadsheet or text file.

For details about query options, see Dragnet Help->Item Tracking->Query Items->Keyword Search
