Gold support issue and also clearing

Post by ROTRTechTeam » Fri Jan 09, 2009 10:04 pm

First, I pay for Gold Support, but the Gold Support forum is read-only for me. Can that be fixed somehow?

Next, I want to completely clear out my Dragnet database in Fortress and start fresh (including categories, etc.). Is that possible and if so, how?

Thanks!

Mike

We no longer offer Gold Support; the last Gold support subscription expired in June, 2008. We now offer maintenance, which provides you with free upgrades for a year.

You can post to the regular Vault or Fortress forum for support.

Regarding starting over with Fortress item tracking: Do you currently have Vault 3.x and Dragnet installed, or do you have Fortress installed already?

We haven't fully tested this, but here's a workaround:

First, backup your Fortress databases. The uninstall Fortress, leaving the databases when prompted. Delete the sgdragnet database from SQL Server (make sure you also delete the sgdragnet.mdf and .ldf files from the Data directory.)

Then reinstall Fortress. The installer will create a new sgdragnet database for you.

Thanks...that's extremely drastic for what my needs are. Is there a way to go into Query Analyzer and run a query that will update all those projects to "closed" status so they don't appear as active?

You can't inactivate projects, but you can inactivate Milestones so they don't show up. You can also delete projects from the Item Tracking Projects list.

We don't have a query handy that would do this.
