upgrading from Vault 3.5

Post by hutch619 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:35 pm

If I am currently running Vault 3.5 do I need to upgrade to 4.1 before moving to Fortress? I tried going though the Getting Started tutorial but got stuck when trying to uninstall Vault. I'm thinking the tutorial is for users moving from vault 4.x to Fortress. Is this correct? If I can do it from 3.5 then what steps do I need to take? (ie: how do I specify that I "want to keep this database")

After looking through a few other postings it appears I should be able to upgrade straignt from 3.5. I was able to remove the Vault Server app from within "Add/Remove Programs" but can't remove "SourceGearVault Admin Tool". I am getting the warning "there are other users logged on to this computer. If you uninstall this program while another user is running it, the program might not uninstall completely." I click on Continue - it asks "Are you sure you want to remove SourceGear Vault Admin Tool from your computer?" - I click Yes - and nothing happens.

1) How do I uninstall the Admin Tool
2) what additional steps do I need to take before I can install Fortress?
