Keyboard editing, Mac osx

Post by olivier » Thu Nov 03, 2011 8:07 am

I just started using DiffMerge (3.3.1) on Mac osx and I think it's great. I'm used to merging and editing using only the keyboard and so I'm pleased to see I can navigate changes using keyboard shortcuts.

However, the text cursor seems to disappear when I move from one change to the next forcing me to click in the editing window to continue my work. I would really love it if:

1- the text cursor would position itself on the first line of a newly selected change (in the currently selected file/window)
2- a keyboard shortcut would allow me to jump from one editing window to the next. (Even if I can't edit the left file on 2 files diff, I may want to select & copy)

Maybe this is Mac specific? Maybe this can already be done and I haven't figured out how?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

You're right the cursor does disappear when you use the
next/prev change buttons. I probably had a good reason
for doing that at the time, but I'm not sure what it was.
I'll log this.

As for switching between edit windows, try Control-TAB.

thanks,
jeff
