UTF8 loses French characters when import

Post by boazrossano » Sat Feb 11, 2017 10:27 am

Hi,

Recently purchased and loves Diffmerge. :D

I'm trying to export a comparison between 2 languages SRT files that one is in English and the other in French.

When I import I get this:
html-export-bug.png
html-export-bug.png (43.88 KiB) Viewed 12696 times
Instead of this:
notepad.png
notepad.png (19.82 KiB) Viewed 12696 times
This happens when unique FR characters are used.

How can I circumvent it?

The subtitles files are saved in UTF8 with BOM and open properly in Notepad / NotePad++ / Subtitles Edit.

Thanks,
Boaz

Check your Options - File Windows - Rulesets. There you can either edit the default, or make a custom one for the .srt file extension.
