Can't check in due to old delete file with same name

Post by johnb@efaact.com » Fri Oct 20, 2017 3:18 pm

I have an asp.net page with it's associated files (html, .net source, designer) that were deleted somehow. I couldn't find a way to undelete them so I restored a backup of those three files but when I go to check them in it says it can't because the files already exists even though they have been deleted from the vault project. How do I get rid of the files in vault so the new files can be added?

When files are deleted, the best way to restore them is to use our restore deleted items feature. Right-click the parent folder that held the deleted items and select Properties. Click on the Deleted Items tab. From there you can select which files to restore.

Since you have already restored the database, you have to clear your client-side cache if you wish to keep working with that database: viewtopic.php?t=217. If the file was in that version of the database, then it is right that you cannot add it again, but you can perform a Get on the file to pull that version down to your machine.
