Admin Tool for v4.1.1?

Post by mshe » Wed Apr 16, 2008 9:40 pm

Hi all,

I recently upgrade to v4.0 and noticed there is no installation package for the admin tool?

Has the desktop admin tool been replaced by the web admin?

I really liked the admin tool - it's quicker than visiting a website. Any plans for a desktop version again?

Yes, the Admin Client is now viewed with browser. I don't think we have plans to go back to a GUI Client, but we're open to ways to redesign it to be faster.

What in the current Admin web client slows you down?

Hi just a couple of minor items:

1. Primarily the source code repository list is not collapsible.
2. The font seem a bit too large in FireFox
3. If permission are removed from a user, explicit permissions are now added to repository access?

I'll add a feature request to change these.

Yes, provided the user has access to the repository.

Yes, provided the user has access to the repository.
Shouldn't the permissions be completely deleted? Otherwise there will be orphaned permissions all over the place?

You can see a user's default rights by clicking on the username in the Users list. You can also get an overview of their rights from the Users list, under Access rights. This shows Repository Access rights and Folder security rights. So you should be able to easily find all the rights assigned to a particular user.
