4.1.2 Vault GUI - Status not updating

Post by Don Thimsen » Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:21 pm

I've just finished a 4.0.6 to 4.1.2 upgrade, and followed the instructions in the Knowledge base on removing the 4.0.6 client that was installed on the server. The server is running Win2K.

Everything looked good until I did a "get lastest version" on a file from the vault gui. The gui's message pane shows that the get lastest finished successfully, but still shows the status on the file as missing. It was succesfully obtained. The same problem happens on a get lastest from the entire folder.

However, as soon as I move away from the vault client (change focus to another windows application), the status fields are updated.

Any ideas?

More Info...

I've tried this on two clients. The Vault client on the Win2K server machine (all service packs installe), and an XP Pro SP3 machine. Also with all service applied.

What happens when you get latest and hit refresh (F5)?

The refresh doesn't work. However, I do see the "refreshing folder tree" in the message pane, followed by a "folder tree refreshed.

Linda,

Can you reproduce this problem? It's happening on every machine I've tried it on. Checkout/checkins do update the status correctly, but a right-click get latest version, or Source >Get latest version from the menu bypass the status update until the mainform is refocused.

Also, I don't have to completely leave the Vault GUI. Even a Help > About SourceGear Vault will cause the update to occur when the about screen is closed (ie. when the vault mainform is refocused).

No, I can't reproduce it. I have your email to support -- I'll follow up offline.

I'm in the process of investigating this for a 4.1.3 fix.

I've identified this problem, and a fix will be available in 4.1.3. If you need a prerelease build email me using the button below this post. A workaround for the meantime is to enable the Get Latest dialog in Vault Client options under Tools->Options->Command Dialogs.
