Explorer integration

Post by hensz » Tue Jul 20, 2010 2:46 am

Hi!

Is there a way to integrate Vault directly in Windows Explorer (or is there a plug-in for TotalCommander)? Sometimes it's easier to locate files in a file manager, why not check in or check out the files directly where I found them?

Regards,
Torsten

We don't have a integrated Shell client at this time. We have feature request 5425 logged for this functionality; I'll add your vote.

It will be evaluated for an upcoming release of Vault.
Thanks for your feedback!

Please add my vote to this as well. I'd even be happy (for an initial release) to have this integration limited to only checkouts. But full shell integration would rock!

And why is this important? For those not using the already awesome Visual Studio integration, the only other choice is the Vault Client. In our company, we have a number of developers using Lua script for programming (along with Notepad++) and if shell integration were available, it would be trivial to check out files. Same is true for our artists and animators (who obviously don't use Visual Studio).

I hope you'll consider adding support for this soon!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, this would be useful for customers who don't use Visual Studio, etc. I've added your "vote" to feature request 5425.
