Visual Studio 2019 Vault Pending Changes not displaying properly

Post by kadorken » Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:38 pm

Just recently (I noticed today) when I use Visual Studio 2019 with Vault, the Vault Pending Changes window does not appear to 'refresh'. The display of the window within visual studio desktop reflects the windows BEHIND (that were on the display before visual studio started). See sample screen pick 1

There is one file checked out; it does not display in Visual Studio.

Visual Studio 2019 Version 16.4.3
Source Gear Vault Standard Version Client Version 10.0.2 (936)
Server Version 10.0.2.936
Source Gear Vault Standard Visual Studio Extension 10.0.3.967
Source Gear Vault Server 64 Version

I cleared the Vault cache; no change in behaviour.

Perhaps my Visual Studio Extension got updated in advance of the server ?

Trying to see if there is a server 10.3.967 but the download pages I could find only showed 10.0.2.936

The Visual Studio extension was downloaded from the Visual Studio Marketplace and indicates it was installed 7/16/2019. The only changes have been periodic (TOO PERIODIC!) updates of Visual Studio 2019.

Hello,

We have had other user's report a similar problem. It was resolved when they disabled the "Optimize Rendering for screens with different pixel densities option".

Please let me know if this doesn't help.

Thanks,

Tonya

Thanks. I had figured that out before but my memory failed me. Somehow that option got turned back on in one of the (many) visual studio 2019 updates.

We noticed that Microsoft turned it back on in an update, and are currently working on a fix. If anyone on Vault 10 is interested in a private build that may address this issue, please email 'support AT sourcegear DOT com' with a link to this forum posting.

Having to turn off "Optimize Rendering for screens with different pixel densities" will be resolved in Vault 10.1, tentatively scheduled to be released this week.
