Files Stuck in Pending Change Set

Post by tpatton » Tue Dec 27, 2005 10:25 am

I have a bunch of files stuck in the pending change set. Originaly they had a status of "Unknown" but I used info in the forums here to clear that up. Then a small subset ended up in the change set as Modified/Size Unchanged. Committing them simply changed the timestamp but didn't clear the file out of the change set. I tried editing one of the files to see if that would clear it, but even after committing it, its still there. I can still committ any other files I change and they work normally. But if I select a stuck file with a regular one, neither will commit.

You may have an "orphaned transaction," which can happen if a commit fails, you fix the problem, but evoke the same command again with the previous command still in the pending change set.

Can you select the item in the pending change set and undo the command (right click ->Undo <command>, or click the red arrow)?

I tried undoing, then undo and commit, but the file is still stuck there.

Could you email or post a screenshot? What version of Vault are you using? Send it to linda at SourceGear.com.

Also, for the files that are "stuck" in the pending change set, what is their file status in the file list?

I'm using version 3.1.5 (3546). For the stuck files, the status is "Edited". I'm including a screen shot of the change set. I tried committing the file at the top of the list again, that's why its date is different.

Are the files checked out? If not, you could try deleting CacheMember_KnownChanges from the Client-side cache files:

I don't have the files checked out, since I am the only user I just use SG to pick up any changes I make during the day. I tried deleting the known changes file, but the files are still stuck.

Let's try deleting the entire client-side cache file. This would be everything in the Vault_1 directory in your %appdata%\SourceGear directory.

Before you do this, close any open Vault client on your machine. You'll need to reset working directories after this.

I tried deleting the local cache, the files are still stuck. Any other ideas?

I've had a similar problem with 3.1.5. I pinned two files through the history window to a version earlier than the most recent. After that they just sit in my Pending Changes window, not even dissapearing when I commit a transaction.

I tried deleting the KnownChanges cache. I haven't tried deleting the entire client-side cache until I know if there is another solution.

I am also having this same problem

Post by kentroylance » Mon Feb 13, 2006 7:45 am

I have several files that show Size Unchanged. I cannot undo them or commit them to remove them from my Pending Change Set View. I also cleared out my cache, and that made no difference.

Appreciate any help,

Kent
