Question about Keyword Expansion

Post by M2r4Miller » Thu May 11, 2006 10:37 am

In the Admin.pdf, on page 18, under the heading "Time Formats" it states that date/time formats will display the timezone after the time stamp.

For example, here is the results of the $Log: $ keyword expansion in one of my files:

* ****************** Version 7 ******************
* User: Mark D. Miller Date: 2006-05-11 Time: 11:13:55-05:00
* Updated in: /SPA/prgs
* What is difference between $Log and $History?

My question is this - I am in Central timezone which is -06:00, but the time stamp is showing -5.

I have checked my date/time settings on my workstation and the Vault server and both machines show Central tz (-6). Why does Vault expand the keyword with the wrong timezone displayed?

I am using version 3.1.8, downloaded and installed on 5/9/2006.

Thanks!
Sincerely,

Mark Miller

If your time zone is Central Daylight Time instead of Central Standard Time, the offset from UTC is 5 hours this time of year, and local times will be displayed with this offset. Is your operating system set to use DST?

Yes, my systems are set to DST. That explains it!

Thanks.
