Get Latest Dialog does not show filename

Post by collsoft » Fri Nov 10, 2006 4:34 am

I am currently evaluating Vault with a view to migrating from Source Safe.

I am working on a VB6 project, and when I open it (on a workstation where the working files are mostly out of date) and choose to get the latest version (see attached screenshot);

This screen does not show any individual filenames, so I assume that it refers to the whole set of files in the project.

I then make my choices and then press OK.

The I get the same dialog again and again as if it’s asking me for each file in the project.

The problem is that for a project with a lot of files this is most annoying, and as I cant see the filename in the dialog box I don’t actually know what files I am making decisions for!

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Jason

Is this only happening with projects since you switched?

You will want to double check your Vault settings in VB6-Tools-SourceGear Vault-Options to make sure things are set as you'd like them.

Do you have changes residing in your working folder that need to be saved? If not, then since there could be some confusion I think if you clear your client side cache and working folders and start fresh that the problem will stop: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=6.

The option responsible for this behavior is found in

Tools->SourceGear Vault->Options->Advanced...

It is labeled

[ ] Always display command dialog on Get Latest Version

Clearing the checkbox makes those dialog boxes go away.
