Disconnected every 30 seconds - now cannot connect at all

Post by rakkar3 » Thu Feb 15, 2007 2:39 am

Vault was working fine for a few months. One day, for no reason that I know of, every user keeps getting disconnected every 30 seconds to several minutes. I'm able to work if I'm fast, but generally if I do an operation, then don't do anything, it will disconnect me.

It's especially bad right now. Then, out of the blue, I got this error

It's now stuck at that error for about 15 minutes and it hasn't gone away. It also happens if I use remote desktop and try to login as admin.

I've already tried everything I've read on these forums to fix the problem about setting IIS process settings, etc. and it's already set that way.

Everything else works fine on the server.

One of my repositories on the server has anonymous access. If you want to try it it, it is the same URL, repository RakNet, username anonymous

http://rakkarsoft.dnsalias.com:52531/Va ... login.aspx

The server is windows server. Vault client is 3.5.1 (4786). Vault server is whatever version was released at the same time as that client (got it a few months ago).

* Update *

I restarted the IIS server and stopped and started again the default website and that got rid of the 503, but I really need to know why this is happening, because it is impossible to work like this.

On the Vault Server machine, what version of IIS are you using? And what is the verison of the .NET Framework used by the Vault Server?

You can easily find the .NET Framework version by logging in with the Vault GUI Client and selecting Help->Technical Support.

Could you send me a copy of the Vault Server log? Email to support at sourcegear.com ATTN: Linda

This only happens after I perform an operation, such as update or check-in.

The log file showed errors when the Vault Server tried to send email notifications. This could be what is causing the server to restart. I sent rakkar3 some troubleshooting tips.
