Two Separate VaultServices Pointing to Same Database

Is there any reason that you can't install the VaultService on two separate IIS servers and point them at the same Vault database? We would like to have one VaultService be served via Local LAN and a second be served outside our LAN (public).

Would impact would this have on licensing (if any)?

Or is this just a "bad idea"?

It's a bad idea. Both Vaults will be generating IDs and could create conflicting IDs for items in the database. The two Vault servers do not talk to each other and will be unaware of what the other does to the database.
