Changing Server Working Folder

Post by dsmith » Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:18 am

I want to change the Server Working Folder through the Vault Admin Tool.

We are running out of space where the current folder is so need to move it to another drive.

Are there any problems with doing this?

This should be fine. Make sure the account Vault is using (NT Authority\Network Service, or custom account) has read/write access to the new directory location. You can determine which account this is by looking at the Vault Server log for the Identity=<account name> in the System Started section of the log.

Thanks for the reply.

I have managed to change the folder now.
We had to do a server reboot though as the client software was reporting the following error:

"The server had an error processing the file upload but did not return an error header. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."

Vault server settings are written to a configuration file. Generally when you change these settings, you need to restart IIS for the changes to take effect. Rebooting the machine accomplished the same thing, but next time remember you should only need to restart IIS.
