Vault integration with MS Office 2007

I do not see a menu option in MS Word 2007.
Can Vault be set up to integrate with MS Word 2007. In other words, when I launch MS Word 2007, can Vault integrate and check out my Word document automatically?

Vault and Fortress currently support integration with Visual Studio, Dreamweaver and Eclipse. There is no integration with Microsoft Office. I can log this as a feature request, however.

I also vote for this feature, we use Vault to store the documents related to source code projects, so that this would be very handy.

Edit: Something like Perforce has with their P4OFC plugin, doesn't seem to be very complex.

Is this enhancement, particularly the integration with Access 2007, likely to be implemented in a future version of either Vault or Fortress? I was on the verge of switching to SourceGear Fortress but I think I'll stick with the latest version of Visual SourceSafe for now.

Although we don't officially support integration with MS Access, we have worked with users who are successfully using MS Access with Vault.

For MS Access 2007, users need to modify a config file so that Access will load the .Net framework 2.0. Let me know if you'd like further information on this.

I'd appreciate further details on how to integrate MS Access with Vault by modifying a config file so that .Net framework 2.0 is loaded. Presumably solution only applies to Vault and not Fortress as well?

I want to ask you if any news about integration Vault with MS Office 2007 becomes.
In our company we are very interesting in such plugin because Vault is used as main repository for documents.

No, nothing has changed. We still do not support integration with MS Office.

Dear Linda,

You kindly provided me with a copy of the msaccess.exe.config required to get Microsoft Access 2007 to work with SourceGear Fortress.

I recently upgraded to SourceGear Vault Professional and the source control integration in Access doesn't seem to work any more. I'm assuming this is because of the upgrade.

Is there a revised version of the msacess.exe.config that works with Vault Professional?

Not sure exactly but I have the install files for FortressClient_1_1_4_1802.msi and FortressServer_1_1_4_18402.msi.

The same config file works with VaultPro.

What type of error are you getting?

If Access isn't finding the integration component, then it's possible that the VaultPro client installation didn't create the necessary registry key in the Source Control Provider node.

Look under this key on a 32-bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider

Or this one on a 64-bit machine:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SourceCodeControlProvider

The value for ProviderRegKey should be:
Software\SourceGear\VaultPro Client
