Connection lost

Post by deboeck » Wed Mar 24, 2004 8:24 am

Dear,

When a client connection is lost during an operation (for instance check in), the inherited directories are lost when a new connection is made.
Does there exist a fix for this issue ?

Thanks,
Bart

bart:

can you elaborate a little more?

i'm not sure i understand what you mean by:
client connection is lost during an operation
and
the inherited directories are lost when a new connection is made
can you provide the dialog message text when the connection is lost? or perhaps a screen shot?

client connection is lost : the connection with the server is lost, i.e. the connection goes down during an operation (for instance a check in)

inherited directories : working folders can be inherited

When a connection goes down and after restarting the Vault client, some working folders are misconfigured, i.e. the inherited configuration disapears.

is it a safe assumption that you do not use the vault ide client within visual studio?

scratching my head over this one. inherited working folders are not stored, but calculated by a set working folders.

can you provide an example, using paths, of this behavior? maybe there's something i don't understand.

ok, I'll ask my customer to give an example which fails at his site, this may take a day or two
