Cannot open VS2005 project

Post by BN » Wed May 10, 2006 2:43 pm

I've just installed Sourcegear vault for a single user.
I was able to add a VS05 project to the repository. When I checked out on the same machine, It worked well. When I checked out from a different machine, I always got the error "The application for project <project path
name.VBPROJ> is not installed. Make sure the application for project type
(.vbproj) is installed"

This is the same error as if I just simply copy the folder from 1 machine to another without using source control. Is Vault working with VS 2005 at all?

Thanks

BN

Vault fully supports VS 2005.

When you tried it on a different machine, did you first do an Open From Source Control to open the project?

Yes, I did use File | Open from source Control from within VS IDE.
As soon as I click on it, the error dialog appears!

I think it's important to mention that this project was converted to VS2005 from a VS 2003 project recently.

I'm using the latest version of Vault

Thanks

So before the Vault login comes up, the error happens? That indicates a configuration problem on the 2nd machine.

This may be a dumb question, but is Vault installed on the other machine and set to be the default source control provider?

The error came up only after a successful login on the 2nd machine. I don't think that there's a config problem on either machine.
And yes, both machines are configured to use Vault as the default source control.

Thanks

Turn on IDE logging and then try it again. See http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=2898 for directions on logging, then either post the log file here or email it me.
