Vault 4.0.1: Errors during checkin after adding files

Post by isg » Tue Jun 26, 2007 1:42 am

After upgrading to Vault 4.0.1 i get the following errors when trying to checkin after adding files to the repository:

[6/26/2007 9:42:14 AM] Beginning transaction
[6/26/2007 9:42:14 AM] Item $/(Actual filename) caused the transaction to fail: An item with the same name or object id already exists in the selected folder.
[6/26/2007 9:42:14 AM] Transaction failed

It looks as if vault is requiring to checkin files and folders - but that they are already in the repository?

We use the Visual studio client and the Standalone client.

It seems as if there is duplicate add file in pending changes. Even after the file has been added there is still an "Add file" in pending changes. Doing an undo on the add file and add folder items cures the problems. So I have a resolution

Thanks for the info. It sounds like we might be pending a file twice in your scenario. If you can duplicate the problem, I'd love to hear about it.
