Having two Vault Clients on the same machine

Post by rudrvij » Wed Feb 20, 2008 12:41 pm

Hello,

Currently we are using Vault Client 3.1.8 and Vault Server 3.1.8

We are thinking of upgrading to Vault 4.1. As it is still in Beta we want to evaluate it first. So we are thinking of using a new server to load Vault Server 4.1. (a new vault database).

So my question is on my machine can I have both Vault 3.1.8 client and Vault 4.1 (Beta) client?

Thanks
Vijay

It's not a supported configuration and Visual Studio is only going to work with the last one installed. Running 2 has been done though by users. It's just not tested by us. What you can do is move your main program files directory for Vault 3.1.8 to a different location on your hard drive and then install 4.1. The shortcuts will all be 4.1 then, but 3.1.8 can still be run from the location you moved it to.

Hi Beth,

Thanks for your response.
Do you know the official release date of 4.1?

Thanks
Vijay
