where are working folders stored?

Post by luther_miller » Thu May 26, 2011 3:48 pm

Most of our users' machine are being migrated to a new domain and the profiles are being copied. Is it possible to manually update the working folder settings across multiple repositories for users who's working folders are located in their old profile locations? E.g. are these stored in a text file or registry etc.?

The working folders are set in a file called cachemember_workingfolderassociations. The entire Vault cache is found in Vault_1. More details about the cache can be found here: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=6. You could try copying the cache over to the new profile location where the new cache would be. If you have a user login under the new domain one time, then the cache will get created in the new location, which may make it easier to find where to drop a copy of the old cache.

Please note that we haven't tested doing this with the cache to see if everything is fine afterwards. You might try it with one user first to make sure they're functional before having any others try it.

Other client settings are found in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceGear\VaultPro\Client\Settings, but those are the settings found under Vault Tools - Options.
