can not do a GetProject with a -recursive flag

Post by usersite » Thu Feb 19, 2004 3:22 pm

I'm trying to get my project from SourceSafe

soscmd works fine when the -recursive flag is not used. ie; the files in the root of the project are brought over however, when i do a soscmd again with the added -recursive flag, it gets stuck..

the following is the output:

SourceOffSite Command Line Client: Standard Edition version 3.5
Connected to server mysrcserver at port 8888.
Received Challenge from server
Successfully logged in.
Sending GetProject Command to server.

and it gets stuck on this line.. doesn't seem to move..

any suggestions?

Can you perform this same operation from the SOS GUI client?

Is there any information in the SOS Server log file that might be helpful? It's the log.txt file in the SOS Server directory.

a massive file in SourceSafe was causing problems

so basically what happened was that, there were a couple of massive files (hovering around 20-30 MB) lurking around under that project. Now, coincidently, they were the first ones to be brought over, and it was taking excrutiatingly long time.

I had basically let the command running while i twiddled around with other things and after a very long time, when i went back. 1 file was transferred over.

I basically removed those files from source safe and now my tree is being downloaded just fine.

thanx for giving me your time Linda.
