Can I transfer my user accounts to a new server?

Post by chrisc_w » Tue Dec 17, 2013 4:21 am

I have set up a new server to host Vault and transferred the SGVAULT database then activated the licences on the new server.

I do not though see any of the users on the new server so I expect I need to transfer something else too. I will try the SBmaster database, but if anyone knows which one it is I would appreciate your advice.

Thanks

OK transferring the sgmaster database has restored my users. Do I need the other two?

If you're moving Vault to a new server, all the databases should be in place in SQL Server before you install Vault. This is because the installer will upgrade your databases (if you're installing a newer version), and create the proper user account and associations between the databases and the Vault Server.

Be sure you have good backups of all your Vault databases before you start.

Yes, you should transfer all your Vault databases. Depending on what version you have, you will have sgvault, sgmaster, and for later Vault version, there's also sgvaultindex, and sgnotify. Vault Pro also has sgdragnet.
