Environment variables in the path name to an External Tool

Post by mateiacd » Tue Jun 19, 2018 9:42 am

Hi,

Do DiffMerge 3.3.x and 4.2.0 support environment variables in the path name to an External Tool ?

This works : C:\Users\MateiACD\AppData\Roaming\PT\DiffPdf\diffpdf.exe
This doesn't work : %APPDATA%\PT\DiffPdf\diffpdf.exe

where the Windows environment variable is this
APPDATA=C:\Users\MateiACD\AppData\Roaming

I get the errors in the attached file.

Thank you for contacting SourceGear Support.

I've tested and reproduced your example, getting the same errors that you provide. Apparently this functionality was not built into the External Tools execution. I have logged Feature Request # P1959 so that it can be addressed in a future release.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
