Vault fails to check in files starting with "."

Post by Valueduser » Mon Mar 18, 2024 9:24 am

I am trying to check in a project and any file that starts with the period character generates an error that says access is denied. For instance there is a file named .log that is generated by eclipse that always fails to be checked in. I haven't found any settings in the client that may help and am wondering if this is a known problem or possibly a server side issue that I should take up with our Vault administrator. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am using Vault standard Version 10.0.0 (736).

Hello,

Vault supports checking in files with names that begin with a "." so there may be something else going on. Do you want the .log files checked in? I believe those are files within Eclipse that don't necessarily belong in source control. If you'd like for us to troubleshoot this a bit more, please email support@sourcegear.com and provide us with your Vault Server log. The Vault Server log is in %windir%\temp\sgvault\sgvault.log on the server machine.

Thanks,

Tonya
