Reoccuring disconnects

Post by Kelwell » Tue Mar 22, 2011 7:30 am

I am in the process of evaluating Vault Professional. I have Vault server running on a Windows 7 x64 workstation with MS SQL 2005 std, IIS7. I have tried connecting using the Vault Professional client from the same workstations as the Vault server, and a different workstation. I am constantly getting dissconnected when trying to compare contents and detect new files.

Below is the Vault environment information:

Client Information
Vault Professional Client Version: 5.1.1.19216
.NET Framework Version: 2.0.50727.4927
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise
Service Pack: 0.0
OS Version: 6.1.7600
Total Physical Memory: 24 GB
Time Zone: (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Server Information
Server Version: 5.1.1.19216
.NET Framework Version: 2.0.50727.4927
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise
Service Pack: 0.0
OS Version: 6.1.7600
Timezone: (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
SQL Version: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1399.06 (Intel X86)
License Information
0 serial number(s)

Can you please offer any assistance with the constant disconnections?

Thank you.

Can you show me a screenshot of the error you receive?

Can you look in your Vault Server Log for any errors that happen at the same time you are disconnected and post them? That log is found at %windir%\temp\sgvault\sgvault.log.

If you don't see anything in your server log, then the Client Side Log found at %temp%\vaultguiclient.txt or %temp%\<some number>\vaultguiclient.txt may have a useful error to post.

It appears i do not have permissions to add attachments, and the BBCode is turned off.

Can you offer any assistance with this?

I've updated your permissions. You may need to log out and log back in for them to take affect.

Sorry about that. I thought being able to attach would do what you needed. I looked through all the possible permissions, and there' no option for setting BBcode for users. It should just be there. While you are editing, look to the right to see what's turned on.

So that we can move forward on the support issue, could you attach your logs? You have the option of editing your post and removing the logs after we resolve this.

I'm posting an update on where we are at so far. We discussed this issue offline.

What I saw in the logs were session state errors and a lot of recycling. For other users, if you look in your Vault server log and see "System Started," that shows that IIS or the App Pool recycled. I had the user change the recycling on his VaultAppPool to match mine. I am attaching a screenshot of the settings I have.

We will now watch this for the next few days to see if the errors come up again.
