Detecting and Deleting

Post by dronad » Tue Dec 06, 2005 10:45 am

Two enhancements probably already discussed, but I can't find them.

(1).. the detect/add new files option is great -- actually the sole feature that I upgraded to 3.x for. But if the new files exist in a new folder, neither are suggested to be included in the GUI ... and so it is easy to leave behind new files. It would be nice if this feature showed new files that might also be in a new directory.

(2) in asp.net 1.x, if a file was on the client but not in the solution/project file, it wouldn't get compiled and so if something wasn't deleted in the repository that should have been ... not a big problem. Now (with asp.net 2.0), if you delete something in the client, and don't delete it in the repository... it will get pulled back in with the next Get Latest and compile and likely break the build ... even though it isn't in the solution. Not sure what the solution is, perhaps a "delete" all missing files (but that sounds scary now that I think of it, too).

I am using CVS mode for context on the above.

Thanks for a great product and service.

David
