Access Denied

Post by Vinaya » Tue Feb 13, 2007 3:12 pm

Hello:

When we are working from IDE, and try to get the latest version. We are seeing an error message as "Access Denied". But, interesting part is we were able to get the latest files inspite of the error message, but not always. Any thoughts about it.

Thanks

Are you using Folder Security? If so, check the user's settings in the Admin tool to make sure they have the access they need. Read only will allow a person to get a file, but not check it in.

What happens if the user attempts to perform a Get from the Vault GUI?

I understand what you are trying to say, but the porblem "Access Denied" message is not coming all the times. Its like this, today I see that message on a particular folder when I try to get the latest. But yesterday I didnt get an error on the same folder, when I get latest from IDE.

Any idea about why it is behaving like that.

For the vault GUI, everything looks fine.

Thanks

Are you seeing the error in the GUI or from within VS 2005?

f it is from within VS 2005, how did you originally get the project to disk?
If this is a second open, are you opening the solution/project locally?

We are using VS 2003, and the error is on VS2003 side not no vault client. This error is coming only(as of now) when we do getlatest of a file from a folder in vault from VS2003. It has nothing to do with the solution.
Yes, we are trying to open the solution local, but binded to the vault repository.

Thanks

Just to make sure I have this right...
---You open the entire solution in VS2003
---You select a folder only and perform the get latest.
If you are not opening the entire solution, let me know.

Is the access denied error occurring on the same folder?

Would you be able to either post or send screenshots showing the entire solution explorer tree and the area you are trying to get pointed out? If you don't want to post here, just send it to support at sourcegear.com with a link to this forum post.
