Edit undone for rename, directory rename and edit

Post by Thomas Linder Puls » Tue Feb 16, 2010 6:38 am

(This is not something I do every day but anyway) in a single transaction:
  • The directory that holds the file is renamed
  • The file is renamed
  • The file is edited
When comitting the edit was undone, but the other two actions took place

This should work in Vault 5.0.

In earlier versions, a rename and edit are not allowed in the same transaction.

I followed these steps:
* The directory that holds the file is renamed
* The file is renamed
* The file is edited
And everything checked in fine, so I may be missing something.

Is this reproducible?

No, it does not seem that I can reproduce the problem.

But I have discovered that the command line utility cannot check-out the file that has been renamed it says something like:

Error: No object was found at the repository path: $/...

If the rename has not been committed to the repository, then the Command Line Client can't find it. You may be seeing the rename in your GUI Client, but that's just a cached view.

I'd suggest deleting the client-side cache, as it may be out of sync with the database. Close any open clients first.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest we schedule a remote assist session where I can take a closer look. Email support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.
